This was just plain fun, and completely unexpected for me since I like the Egyptian broadcollar style of necklace-making. I saw the frosted beads in a bead shop and they were awesome. Looked like sea glass. And then I realized my friend Blarmajin had given me a spare eye. I had just finished learning to make beaded cabochons, so I used it and the seed beads matched exactly. A plan was hatched. I completely goofed around, enjoying each step of the way. It turns out it's how I saw it in my head, but at each step I didn't think it'd work out for whatever reason, but it did.
This necklace represents the transition of the waves, to ship netting, to seaweed... and the Kraken beast. All glass seed beads (size 11s), with resin eye & metallic teal beads, silver-lined blues, aquas and sky blues. You can't see it in this picture, but it has a toggle clasp (silver) and pretty end-clasp beaded stitching resembling a lotus on the back. (All extra ends sticking out have been trimmed off since this pic.)
Thank you so much! It started with the eye and then the beads. When I got the idea to attach the two, somehow it wound up being this. Dunno, creative playing. ^^ Thank you so much!
