This necklace has special meaning for me on a few levels:

-the small bugle beads and the long bugle beads were a gift from my boss <3 She didn't need 'em/have any use for them and she gave them to me, thinking I could use them. Turns out I did!
-The collar is made by loomwork. I had to attach it to the rest of the piece after it was done, just prior to adding a clasp chain.
-This is the first time I've done a chain clasp on a piece, but it fits perfectly.
-The inclusions in the lapis lazuli match the beads too. The bronze beads happened to come with a few which were hued blue and purple, which also match.

This one's the most 'masculine', I'm pretty sure due to the inclusion of the collarpiece, and despite the teardrop and oval shapes of the lapis. I've called it "Geb and Nut" after the god of the earth, forever separated from his lover, Nut- earth and sky. Also, Egyptians viewed lapis as that of royalty and representative of Nut.

This was a very fun piece to do. I whipped out the long bronze bugle row and the small bugle row in a span of 8 hrs. The loom piece was about 6 hours or so, and the ladder-stitch round row on the bottom took about 10 hours. All in all, not bad- still getting faster! My fiance helped with the measuring of the clasp length. =)
